Effective Jan.1st 2010, ALL OKINAWA KENPO
KARATE BLACK BELTS affiliated with the Dharma- Ryu dojos will be required to
maintain an annual membership for a fee of $25 per year. This will enable Kyoshi Paul Ortino Jr. and the Board of Directors (in process of being
formed) to update information on ACTIVE black belts.
As a member, you will receive a membership certificate
(membership card-to follow at a later date), have your picture and contact
information on the DHARMA-RYU DOJO OFFICIAL WEB-SITE (paulortino.com).
Any former Black Belt promoted by either Master Odo
himself or any other Okinawa Kenpo (or Ryu Kyu Hon Kenpo) Sensei is
eligible to be a member. Though our requirements for rank are more strict
than some other Okinawa Kenpo Instructors (see our requirements on our web
page), your rank will be recognized, however, you must be evaluated by our B.O.D. (based on time in each rank, age, etc…) before you can be eligible
as a member for the board.
No black belt testing for Ni-dan or above will be
promoted without being a member. As of June 1st 2010, all OKDR Black belts
will have current membership # or they will be considered inactive. If you
are or you know of any former OKDR black belt and you wish to maintain
contact and affiliation with the Okinawa Kenpo Dharma –Ryu Dojo (OKDR),

Master Odo may no longer with us in physical form
but his spirit lives on with us in his katas, kobudo and teaching
techniques. The OKDR purpose is to preserve those teachings and to teach
the katas the SAME way Master Odo handed them down. Master Odo promoted
Sensei Paul Ortino Jr. to the rank or Hachi-Dan under the RHKKF in June 2001.
Sensei Ortino has trained under Hanshi Odo since 1982 and has trained with
Odo Sensei almost every year except when he was ill. We have available
both DVD’s Volume I (1st year of training), and Volume II
(Advanced Training) for a very reasonable price (on sale now for $29.95
Volume I and Volume II). This includes free shipping.
